Over my more than 20 years in practice, I've helped thousands of men and women address their hair loss, from patients who fly in from across the country to those who live a few blocks from our Garden City headquarters.

The motivation behind what I do has always revolved around the fact that I know exactly what it feels like to sit in that chair and wonder what comes next. How It All Began

I didn't come to hair restoration the way most surgeons do, by choosing it from a textbook or a residency rotation. I came to it the same way most of my patients do: I started losing my hair, and I didn't know what to do about it. So I made an appointment with a doctor whose name kept coming up as the best in the field: Dr. Robert True. I walked into his office as a patient, then became his student, and eventually was trusted to become his partner.

Dr. True had already built one of the most respected hair restoration practices in the country by the time I met him. He was a pioneer in the field, someone who had spent decades refining techniques that most surgeons were still just beginning to understand. He was also, as I would come to learn, an exceptional mentor. In 2002, after my own successful restoration, I joined his practice, where he gave me the platform to develop a reputation of my own.

This young man had a receding hairline, so the focus of this case was to restore density. During a follicular unit extraction procedure, I harvested and placed 1,301 grafts.

This man came to me with widespread thinning. He chose to undergo a follicular unit transplantation procedure. I used 3,115 grafts for this result.

Hair restoration case — traction alopecia, The Hair Loss Doctors

This woman had traction alopecia that resulted in thinning at her hairline and temporal regions. I performed an ultra-refined hair restoration using 1,522 grafts.

Diplomate, American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS)

Not every surgeon who performs hair transplants is board certified. I am. Becoming a Diplomate of the ABHRS requires passing an intense examination that tests both the science and the surgical judgment behind hair restoration. It's the only board certification specifically dedicated to this specialty.

Member, International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS)

The ISHRS is the largest international professional society dedicated exclusively to hair restoration surgery. Membership connects me to a global community of specialists who are actively advancing the field through research, technique development, and peer review. It also means I hold myself to a code of ethics and clinical standards that go well beyond what general medical licensure requires.

Member, International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons (IAHRS)

IAHRS membership isn't open to everyone who performs hair transplants. The organization vets its members for surgical quality, ethical practice, and demonstrated results. They hold members to that standard over time. Being accepted into the IAHRS means my work has been evaluated and endorsed by peers.
