DR. ROBERT H. TRUE: Poor results with the hair transplant can be the result of an inexperienced physician who may not be fully trained. Who may not have had complete training. It can be the result of just differences in ability. I mean, you know, some people are able to reach a higher skill level than other people. And even though they may know what they are doing, they just may not be able to execute it.
No one should go into this field if they think that, well this is something I want to do to make money. Over the years as I have been doing this from time to time, I will have doctors who will come to me and say, you know, I’m getting tired of doing the obstetrics/gynecology or I’m getting tired of anesthesiology. And it looks like I could make a good living doing this. And It looks like it is easy. You know, I’ve had that said to me hundreds of times. So why don’t you train me because I want to make a lot of money and just have an easy life too.
Well they are dead wrong. That is not the reason to go into this. The reason to go into this is because you like it. Because it means something to you and it’s what you really want to do and it’s not easy.
To get really good at this you have to work hard at it. And every time I’ve trained somebody they watch and they say, oh God, that looks so easy. But what they don’t realize is that it is taking a lot of hard work to get to the point where it looks easy.
